John Baadsgaard's Missionary Experiences in Denmark

My son John Baadsgaard is serving a mission for
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark.
While there he finds and teaches people
about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.
He participates in baptisms.

He volunteers his time for service.
He participates in leadership councils
where he is taught
and teaches others leadership skills.
He meets with other missionaries
as they learn from
and teach each other.
He teaches other missionaries
how to better love each other
and the people of Denmark.
He finds ways to teach in interesting hands-on ways.

He learns to forget himself
and find joy
in bringing others to Christ.

Happy Birthday Eden

My Eden

By Grandma Baadsgaard

Happy second birthday Eden dear. I love you so.

In the beginning

They say we were cast out

Yet, I know

Eden is here

Where each chose choice

Forbidden Fruit

Bitter and Sweet

Tree of life

Fruit of love

Seeds of change

Dark and light

There is no loss

Of innocence

For Eden is right here

Handcart Trek Experience for Alisa

My daughter Alisa went on trek with our Stake this past week.
Here she is helping to pull the handcart.
This is Alisa's trek family.
The trek experience was to help the youth get a small taste of what it was like for their pioneer ancestors
when they crossed the plains to Utah. They had to pull handcarts all day and set up camp each night.
Square dancing in the evening made it fun.
This is the woman's pull to honor
the women who made it to Utah on their own.
All the women and girls on trek pulled their handcart without any help up the hardest hill. The men and boys stood at silent attention to honor the strength of women.

Fourth of July Celebrations

My daughter Arianne Baadsgaard Cope
is an amazing fiber arts specialist
who volunteers at the  Colonial Days Celebration.
Here she is demonstrating spinning.
She uses various fibers such as the wool from sheep or the fluff from her bunny to spin.
She also takes the skeins she completes on a the spinning wheel and weaves on her loom to fashion a variety of wares.
She lovingly keeps alive the skills of her ancestors.
Below are her beautiful children enjoying the whole experience.
Logan and Liam listening to the story of how our country was created.
Samuel and Logan with the re-en-actors firing wooden guns.
Sophia with her knitting
Girls can fire guns too.
