Thoughts on Springtime in my own Backyard

If spring came

but once in a century

 instead

of once a year,

or burst forth with the sound

 of an earthquake

and not in silence,

what

wonder and expectation

there would be

in all hearts

to behold

the miraculous change.

Beautiful lilacs & violets--I have a few lily of the valley in my yard--maybe three or four which is amazing because for the past several years, only the leaves came up with no flowers. My Rhody isn't doing so well--just a few flowers this year. I think it is an every other year deal. Now it's time to buy plants for the front of the house and my porch. The tulips and daffodils are long gone, but they were so pretty.
