Visiting the Washington Monument

We're standing in front of the Washington Monument. George Washington was appointed commander in Chief of the Continental army. He signed a peace treaty between the United States and Great Britain. He helped unite the delegates to vote for the United States Constitution. He was elected as the first president of the United States. He was president when the Bill of Rights was adopted. He announced that he would not run again for president when he was so popular that he would have been re-elected for a third term. This man is my hero.  Pin It
